Fortnitemares 2026 went live on Thursday, October 1, 2026, with the v42.30 update. The event is tied to Chapter 7 Season 4 "Override," which ends on October 31. Epic's Battle Pass page lists the season changeover as November 1 in Eastern Time, so treat the morning of November 1 as the absolute latest cutoff, and plan to finish quests on October 31.

Fortnitemares 2026 Collabs and Skins

Epic rolled the collaborations out in waves through October. The confirmed early roadmap looked like this:

• October 1: Five Nights at Freddy's and the return of Horde Rush.
• October 2: A Nightmare on Elm Street, with Freddy Krueger as an in-game boss.

Nitemare Quests unlock weekly on Thursdays across Battle Royale, Horde Rush and Reload. Each completed quest counts toward the Jack-A-Nape reward track, and most quests also give 15,000 XP. Rewards must be unlocked before the event ends on October 31.

Two further cosmetics sit between 12 and 26 quests (a spray or emote and the Tambourine Surprise emote); sources list their exact thresholds slightly differently, so check the in-game quest tab for the precise count.

• Stack Battle Royale quests: Many can be done in one match, such as smashing a Pumpkin Chest, searching containers and dealing damage with the Bonerattler SMG.
• Use Horde Rush for volume: Collecting Cube Monster Parts, buying weapons and choosing perks progress naturally in a single run.
• Don't skip Reload: Its short quests (landing at Named Locations, searching containers) are quick wins.

How to Get the Free Gold Punk Outfit

Epic's help center confirms that redeeming a Fortnite Gift Card between October 2 and October 31, 2026 grants the Gold Punk outfit. Only Fortnite Gift Cards qualify; V-Bucks Cards are excluded, and each Epic Games account can receive the outfit only once.

• Step 1: Sign in at epicgames.com/redeem.
